Actor James Franco has reportedly been approached to take on the lead role in "Oz: Great and Powerful" after Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp both passed on the role.

London: Actor James Franco has reportedly been approached to take on the lead role in "Oz: Great and Powerful" after Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp both passed on the role.
The movie tells the tale of a young illusionist who is forced to flee a travelling circus in a hot air balloon and ends up in the land of Oz - which is run by two magical wicked witches - after being swept off course by a tornado.
Contactmusic.com reports, the set of the film which are being constructed by Disney is being produced by Joe Roth.
