Mumbai: Bollywood actress Lara Dutta, who makes her debut as a producer along with her husband Mahesh Bhupathi for `Chalo Dilli`, says the tennis star is very `filmi` and has an eye for cinema.
"Mahesh may look very sports oriented but he is very filmi. He has a very good sense of cinema. He watches movies from the point of view of an audience...ke mere paisa vasool ho raha hai k nahi....mujhe entertainment mil raha hai k nahi (whether the money I put for the movie ticket is worth or not and that I am getting the entertainment value from the film or not)," Lara told PTI here.
`Chalo Dilli` is produced by Eros International in association with Big Daddy Productions of Lara`s tennis ace husband Mahesh and `Bheegi Basanti` production.
"Big Daddy is much older than Bheegi Basanti Entertainment they have already done television production but of course this is there first feature film. For this film I was involved creatively and Mahesh was looking into the business angle. So we had a nice balance," Lara said.
Directed by Shashant Shah of `Dasvidaniya` fame, the film starring Lara and Vinay Pathak, is a journey of two people - Lara and Vinay.
When asked whether actor friend Akshay Kumar is doing a cameo in the film, Lara said, "I don`t know who is in a cameo role there can be anyone - it can be Mahesh Bhupathi or it can be Akshay...who knows."
She said it was her husband who conceived the item song `Laila O Laila` which features Yana Gupta. Yana grooves to the remixed version of Zeenat Aman`s popular number from `Qurbani`. The film is all set to release on April 29.
