Mumbai: The ‘love match’ between Deepika Padukone and Sidhartha Mallya seems to be over. Speculations have been rife about the couple’s break up for some time now, but incidentally it was Deepika who herself spilled the beans via a status message.
A tabloid reported that a few days back Deepika had ‘Game over’ as her bbm status. What's more, the pretty actress also chose to change her display picture to absolute darkness. Putting the two together, friends of the couple realised that things were not rosy any more in the relationship.
Dippy’s status message left some of her friends bewildered though. Speaking to the tabloid a source said, “We don’t know why she chose to call her romance with Mr Mallya a game.”
The source also added that even though Deepika was upset about the break up, she wasn’t as heart broken as she was when she had parted with actor Ranbir Kapoor. “She was upset for a while. But after a day or two she changed her BlackBerry messenger status. However, by that time, everybody had come to know about the split,” added the source.
We had earlier reported that all was not well in Dippy-Mallya land. The couple had been hinting about a split via status messages on bbm and Twitter. Eyebrows were also raised when Sidhartha failed to make an appearance at Deepika’s birthday party. Plus Deepika’s new found friendship with former lover Ranbir Kapoor perhaps added fuel to the fire. Mallya Jr. apparently told his friends "the relationship is not working and heading nowhere".
So is it official? Have Deepika and Sidhartha split? Since they never confirmed their hook up, guess they will keep shut about the break up as well. And let the statuses do the talking. Right guys?
