New Delhi: On the occasion of the International Women's Day celebrated globally on March 8, budget carriers GoAir and Jet Airways have offered special schemes for women travellers.
On Thursday, GoAir announced a special scheme for women travellers offering upgrade to business class for just Rs 999.
Starting Friday, the offer remains valid till Sunday.
Under the offer, women travellers can upgrade to business for a mere Rs 999, which is a 60 percent discount from the normal price of upgrading and it is applicable on all GoAir direct flight which operate across 21 airports.
"We are excited that GoAir can bring women travellers to choose a service that is sensitive to their needs of comfort, privacy and convenience at a highly affordable value. We strongly believe that GoBusiness as a proposition completely befits the needs of contemporary women travellers," GoAir chief commercial officer Girish Nair had said.
Taking a cue for GoAir, Jet Airways on Friday offered 10 percent discount on base fares for both international and national travel, valid from Saturday to Monday, for women travellers.
The gesture is a part of the International Women's Day celebrations, it said, adding the offer is applicable for both Jet Airways and Jet Konnect flights.
"International Women's Day is heralded as a chance to celebrate past, present and future women. The airline takes pride in participating and honouring women from all walks of life, on this special occasion," Jet Airways Senior Vice President (commercial) Gaurang Shetty said.
