When Veena got a distress call from ex Asif

Mumbai: Few days before the British courts declared former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif guilty of match-fixing, he made a distress call to ex girlfriend, model-actress Veena Malik and asked her to come to London as he needed her. The actress, who was in a live-in relationship with the cricketer before she got to know about his misdeeds, refused the offer. Speaking to a daily, Veena said, "It was a mutual friend from, London, Zahid Ali Saab, who called me on October 26 stating that Asif wanted to desperately see me, that he wanted a reconciliation. I declined. How can I turn back the clock? Asif and I shared a beautiful if stormy relationship. We were together until 2008 when I came to know about his match-fixing activities; I left him." The reality star who featured in ‘Bigg Boss season 4’ added, "Even when we were together I tried to warn him against what he was doing. I am not surprised by the court`s verdict. But I am sad for him." Veena was quick to add that she still had a soft corner for Asif. "I can`t deny I still have feelings for him. Relationships don`t die. I`ve no hard feelings about any of my former boyfriends. My time with Asif was special. But I`ve moved on." In spite of being married, Asif called up Veena from London which speaks a lot about cricketer’s fondness for the actress. Veena said that she had met Asif’s wife and there is no animosity between the two. "Asif is a happily married man. I know his wife Sanaa. In fact, when they were getting married, she called me up to find out about my relationship with Asif. I told her to please go ahead with the marriage," said Veena. Veena said getting involved with a married man is an absolute no for her. "I`d never do that to another woman." In fact, after getting the call from Asif, Veena cancelled her trip to England. "I was supposed to be there this week for an event. It`s best not to create situations where things can go out of hand."
