Pop princess Britney Spears snubbed Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has revealed that her new song `Telephone` was originally written for pop princess Britney Spears, who had rejected the song.

Los Angeles: Lady Gaga has revealed that her new song `Telephone` was originally written for pop princess Britney Spears, who had rejected the song. The `Poker Face` hitmaker was a songwriter before she shot into the limelight with her 2008 debut album `The Fame` and had penned tracks for artists including the Pussycat Dolls, reported a news website.
Gaga has admitted that she had written `Telephone` for Spears, but when the `Toxic` hitmaker rejected the song, she recorded it herself and brought new pal R&B singer Beyonce Knowles on board to give it a superstar makeover. "I wrote it for her a long time ago and she just didn`t use it for her album. It`s fine because I love the song and I get to perform it now," said the 23-year-old singer. The song is a part of `Fame Monster`, the re-launched version of her debut album. PTI
