Lucy Liu to play Watson in `Sherlock Holmes` TV series
Lucy Liu is reportedly playing Sherlock Holmes` first female Dr Watson in a modern TV update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle`s famous detective stories.

Los Angeles: `Charlies Angels` star Lucy Liu is reportedly playing Sherlock Holmes` first female Dr Watson in a modern TV update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle`s famous detective stories.
The 43-year-old actress will team up with British actor Jonny Lee Miller for new US series `Elementary`, The Hollywood Reporter said.
Set in New York, Liu`s Watson will be a former surgeon and Holmes` sober companion as he struggles with life after rehab.
The drama is loosely based on the hit British show `Sherlock`, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as the updated literary sleuth and his sidekick.
