Miley’s topless shoot for Vanity Fair magazine had stirred quite a hornet’s nest. The erotic shoot showed the teenager in nothing but a bedsheet wrapped around her assets. Upset over the public response to the shoot Miley had issued an apology stating, “ I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be `artistic` and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about. “

In 2009 at the Teen Choice Awards Miley incited yet another controversy. Performing at the event, Cyrus drew crticism for her erotic moves as she danced provocatively alongside a dance pole.Miley was accused of racism after a photo showing her supposedly mocking Asian American by slanting her eyes surfaced online.
