Sonam accepts National Award on behalf of dad, Yash Chopra for son

Filmmaker Aditya Chopra`s "Chak De! India" was named the best film in overall entertainment for 2007, while actor-producer Anil Kapoor was given the special jury award for his film "Gandhi, My Father". Others from Bollywood personalities who were present at the ceremony to received the awards were lyricist Prasoon Joshi - he bagged the best lyricist award for the song "Maa" from "Taare Zameen Par" - and Shankar Mahadevan - who won the prize for the best male playback singer for crooning it. Shreya Ghoshal, who performed the song "Ye ishq hai" from the film "Jab We Met" at the award function, received the best female playback singer award for the same song. Well-known dance director Saroj Khan bagged the best choreography award for "Ye ishq hai" and her award was received by Shabnam Khan. Sabu Cyril received the award for best art direction for "Om Shanti Om". Shefali Shah got it for best supporting actress for her performance in "The Last Lear". Director Feroz Abbas Khan came to receive the best screenplay for "Gandhi, My Father", while Darshan Zariwala got the best supporting actor award for portraying Mahatma Gandhi in the same film. IANS
