Sean Connery `needed drink to calm his nerves on 1st day as James Bond`

London: Original Bond girl Eunice Gayson has revealed that Sean Connery was so nervous on his first day as 007, that he needed a stiff drink to calm his nerves.

The Scottish actor became a screen legend after being cast as James Bond in the 1962 movie ‘Dr No.’ But co-star Gayson, now 84, revealed that he was stricken with nerves on his first day in the studio, and struggled repeatedly to deliver his immortal introduction “Bond, James Bond.” “Sean was very nervous.
