Mumbai: Body of Lalit Sheth, the owner of India’s leading leisure travel company, Raj Travels and Tours Limited, was found at the Dadar beach in Mumbai on Wednesday.
He allegedly committed suicide Wednesday afternoon by jumping from the Bandra Worli Sea Link bridge in central Mumbai.
As per police report, the 56-year old Sheth asked his driver to stop the car on the bridge. Then he got down and told the driver to drive the vehicle ahead slowly as he wanted to take a walk on the bridge.
As the driver drove the vehicle, he realised that Sheth jumped into the sea, the police added.
Police further informed that Sheth’s body was recovered from the Worli village shore and has been taken to Sion hospital for post mortem.
A suicide note is said to have been found in the car but police did not mention anything about the contents of the letter.
However, police sources said financial problems might have led Sheth to take the step.
