London: Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal says he hates going to gym but loves to gorge on the healthy vegetables which he grows in his kitchen garden.
The `Brokeback Mountain` star says he is never worried about his physique while posing for nude scenes as he has a healthy diet, Contactmusic reported.
"I didn`t think about getting in shape. I wanted my character to be a little sinewy and slimy. I used to go to the gym but I don`t do that anymore. I don`t follow a special diet but I try and eat well, so I grow my own vegetables," said the 29-year-old actor.
However, Gyllenhaal is not the only star to grow his own food. Actor Johnny Depp previously claimed that he hates going out of his house and only does to check the progress of his vegetables.
"We have a great place in the South of France. It`s a little hamlet - only about 45 acres - and I don`t do anything. I`ve not left the property for three months at a time. I literally just wake up, go out, check the garden and see the vegetables growing. It`s a pristine existence in terms of simplicity."
"There`s no talk of movies or work and, infinitely more important, the telephone never rings. It really is a beautiful, simple life," said the 47-year-old actor.
Meanwhile, actress Nicole Kidman also prefers to cultivate her own crops at her Nashville home to feed her husband Keith Urban and two-year-old daughter Sunday Rose.
