Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio re-team on ‘Wall Street’

Los Angeles: They have one of the most enduring partnerships in Hollywood and the director-actor duo of Martin Scorsese-Leonardo DiCaprio is returning for the fifth time for ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker will direct DiCaprio in the long-delayed project, which is based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort. Scorsese and DiCaprio were attached to direct the film in 2007 but the director subsequently fell out. He, however, is back on the director`s chair. Terence Winter, known for `The Sopranos` and `Boardwalk Empire`, will script with Alexandra Milchan, DiCaprio`s Appian Way banner and Scorsese producing, the Variety reported. The story chronicles Belfort`s dramatic rise and fall on Wall Street, along with his hard-partying lifestyle and tumultuous personal life, which included drug addiction. Scorsese is currently in post-production on `Hugo Cabret. The director will begin work on his next film `Silence`, which is again based on a book by Shusaku Endo about two 17th century Portuguese missionaries who return to Japan to minister to Christians, who have been outlawed. Benicio Del Toro is starring and Graham King produces. Belfort was indicted in 1998 for securities fraud and money laundering and spent 22 months in federal prison. He`s been sober for almost 14 years and has become a motivational speakers and corporate trainer while also working with the Salvation Army and MaAfrika Tikkun. They have previously worked together on award-winning films like `Gangs of New York`, `Shutter Island`, `The Aviator` and `The Departed`. DiCaprio`s currently shooting the J Edgar Hoover biopic directed by Clint Eastwood. PTI
