New Delhi: Budget carrier SpiceJet launched 'Super Sale' offering 5 lakh seats at a fare starting Rs 1,499 all-inclusive, in order to woo customers and to increase passenger demand.
The booking period is between 28 January and 30 January for the travel period 15 February-30 June, the SpiceJet website stated.
The airfare slash is aimed to increase revenues during the lean travel season - between January and the start of the summer break in May, experts said.
The flash sale was followed by rival airlines including IndiGo and GoAir.
Meanwhile, AirAsia India on Tuesday lowered its advance fares, offering its customers one-way ticket prices at as low as Rs 699 with a travel validity period lasting up to March next year.
The bookings under the three-day limited period offer commenced Tuesday and are applicable to travel between August 3 and March 26, 2016, according to the airline's website.
