Hollywood star Jude Law regretted name change

London: British actor Jude Law has revealed he used to regret changing his name from David, because he was often mistaken for a girl.The star, who was born David Law, began using his famous moniker as a stage name when he enrolled with a youth drama group in London in the 1980s, reports a website.

Law admits he had to toughen up because his feminine name would often lead to confusion. "(I was) assigned to the girls` dormitories and sleeping quarters when I was a teenager and I joined the National Youth Music Theatre. Someone took a look at my name and clearly thought, `It has to be a girl.` How wrong can you get?" he said. IANS
