Tata BP Solar India on Thursday said it has changed its name to Tata Power Solar Systems, as part of a restructuring and appointed Ajay Goel as the CEO.
New Delhi: Tata BP Solar India on Thursday said it has changed its name to Tata Power Solar Systems, as part of a restructuring and appointed Ajay Goel as the CEO.
"Tata BP Solar India on Thursday formally announced name change to Tata Power Solar Systems. As part of a previously announced restructuring. Tata Power Solar is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power," an official statement said.
The company has also announced Goel as new Chief Executive Officer.
Goel, an alumnus of IIT-Delhi with an MBA from the University of Chicago, brings over 20 years of broad industry experience to the team, with the last five years deeply focused on the solar industry.

Tata Power Solar offers a wide range of innovative solar systems and solutions for rural and commercial markets, supported by a network of 150 dealers and service centres.

Tata Power Solar was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between Tata and British Petroleum and currently operates independently as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power.
The company is focused on harnessing solar energy to bring electricity to the masses. It operates primarily in three key segments? large utility projects, industrial solutions and standard products & systems for mass markets.
It also owns and operates over 80 MW of solar cell manufacturing and over 120 MW of solar module manufacturing at its headquarters in Bangalore.
