Mumbai: The saucy but rocky romance between Priyanka and Shahid has finally ended. The short-lived affair that had been going through a rough patch for quite some time now came to an end after Shahid conspicuously remained absent from Priyanka Chopra’s birthday bash. The doe-eyed diva, who had a grand celebrations marking her 27 birthday, was reportedly left feeling gloomy and low owing to Shahid’s miffed actions.Even though the gorgeous twosome have maintained that they are ‘just friends’, reports of a heated affair have been doing rounds, thanks to their lovey-dovey acts. But the two lovebirds, who were once touted inseperable, seem to have gone their separate ways. And though the reasons for split remain undisclosed, the fact that Shahid refused to attend Piggy’s party is a sign enough to believe that the affair is over for sure. According to the insiders, even though the actor was in town and was duly expected, he did not show up leading to many hush-hush whispers. The party was well attended by Priyanka’s friends and relatives. A source said, “It was shocking to find that Shahid was not a part of the celebration. One expected him to come in at least for a few minutes.” Confirming the news, a daily quoted a source as saying, "Priyanka’s cousins, who belong to the same age group, had especially flown down from London to be with the actress on this special day. It’s surprising how Shahid, who is known to be Priyanka’s closest ‘friend’ in the industry, wasn’t seen at Priyanka’s bash.”
