Mumbai: Private utility Tata Power Tuesday said its 100 percent subsidiary Trust Energy Resources has been conferred with Approved International Shipping (AIS) award by the Singapore government.

"Singapore Minister for Transport, Lui Tuck Yew, conferred the Approved International Shipping (AIS) award to Trust Energy Resources on April 11 at the Singapore International Maritime Awards 2013," the company said in a statement.

Trust Energy Resources operates a fleet of 5 cape vessels, own and chartered through Energy Eastern, a subsidiary of Coastal Gujarat Power and provides dedicated freight solutions to the 4,000 MW Mundra UMPP.

The company also owns two Korean built cape vessels - Trust Agility and Trust Integrity.

"Trust Energy has built competencies in optimising the shipping costs with its multi cultural team in Singapore and provides Mundra UMPP with both long term and spot freight solutions," the statement said.
