Mumbai: Sanjay Dutt is all set to reprise the role of Kancha Cheena in the remake of ‘Agneepath’. The deadly Dutt would enact a villain’s role for the first time ever considering the fact that he played baddie in ‘Khalnayak’, the protagonist of the film. Earlier, Rishi Kapoor was approached for the bad man’s role. But the veteran actor declined the offer following a skirmish over KJo’s talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’ recently. Finally Sanju Baba was signed for the part just three days ago, said a source. The ‘Agneepath’ remake directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar goes on the floors early next year. Speaking to a daily, an insider revealed, “Rishi Kapoor had even agreed to go bald for the role. ‘Agneepath’, is mainly about two characters Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (played by Hrithik) and the baddie, Kancha Cheena (the role Dutt now plays).” The original ‘Agneepath’ had suave Danny Denzongpa essaying the role of the villain, crime baron Kancha Cheena. Dutt is super excited about his role. “KJo is not talking about it right now as he plans to make a big announcement soon. Also he doesn`t want Rishi to know right now that he has been replaced as Kapoor is likely to go off on another tirade against him”, the source added.
