Jon Hamm signs three-year-contract with Lionsgate TV

Actor Jon Hamm has become the highest paid actor on cable television.

Los Angeles: Actor Jon Hamm has hit the bull`s eye. He has inked a three-year deal with Lionsgate TV and network AMC for TV drama series "Mad Men" and has become the highest paid actor on cable television.
His previous contract for `Mad Men` was for two seasons. The new deal raises his pay significantly in exchange for adding an extra year to the contract, reports a website. The deal`s length now aligns it with the one of "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner, who also closed a new three-year deal earlier this year. After locking in Weiner, Hamm was the studio`s top priority, with other key cast members also expected to get good hikes in exchange for longer contracts. `Mad Men` will return in 2012. IANS
