New Delhi: Bihar government has decided to reduce taxes on diesel, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Tuesday.
Earlier, Kumar termed the diesel price hike and limiting the number of subsidised cooking gas cylinders as a cruel joke on the common people of the country and demanded a rollback.
"It is nothing but a cruel joke with people because they have been fighting for survival in view of high inflation rate," Kumar said.
The government's decision to raise price of diesel by over Rs 5 per litre last week evoked sharp reaction leading to widespread demand for its roll back.
