New Delhi: With several Indian companies seem to be suffering in the backdrop of turmoil after Britain`s shock vote to leave the European Union, India's humble Bhindi or the lady's finger too might suffer.

As per a report in the Economic Times, Indian lady's finger, considered an 'exotic' vegetable in Britain might go missing from its platter “due to exchange rate related issues after Brexit”.

The exports of lady's finger to Britain had given good returns to Indian farmers in the past. Exporters also fear a decline in demand for Indian vegetables like baby corn, chillies etc, the ET further reported.

India has been exporting fresh fruits and vegetables, prominent among them being mangoes, to countries of the European Union.

The EU accounts for more than 50 percent of total exports of fruits and vegetables from India. The UK is the main destination, followed by the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
