Mumbai: A handicapped woman has lodged complaint against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for using her photograph with him to promote his recently released movie `Veer`.
Phoolbanu Shaikh, 30, is seeking Rs 25 lakh as compensation from the actor. She has also denied reports that Salman had donated Rs one lakh to her.
Shaikh`s lawyer Iqbal Solkar told reporters that the Non Cognisable (NC) offence was registered in V P Road police station recently against the actor for using her physically challenged client`s picture to promote his movie `Veer`.
According to Phoolbanu, when she wished to meet Salman, her sister and sister-in-law took her to the residence of the actor to fulfil her wish in March last year.
"But we were told that the actor would be available at Mahboob studio in Bandra shooting his film the next month. In April, we three went to meet Salman," Phoolbanu claimed.
However, the security did not allow them to meet the actor, she said, adding hearing a commotion, Salman stepped out of his van and met them.
"He chatted with us for some time and told us to take photographs with him. Since we were not carrying camera, a crew member at the shooting had clicked our pictures and we were told the photos would be delivered to us later," she said.
