Enrique Iglesias fights back car-accident lawsuit

London: Pop star Enrique Iglesias` attorneys have filed papers to clear him over a 2007 car accident which left an 11-year-old girl injured.

The `Hero` hit-maker was dragged in a lawsuit as his manager ran over the foot of a young fan who was attempting to get the singer`s autograph outside a California radio station, a news website reported. The 35-year-old Spanish singer was thus targeted to pay USD 25,000 as damages in the case filed by the injured`s mother in May last year. But now Iglesias` legal aid has come to his rescue and have filed papers claiming irresponsibility on part of the child`s mother, who should have been careful enough to protect her daughter. The papers also insist that instead of Iglesias, it is the girl`s mother, who should be ordered to pay the damages. PTI
