Amanda to play Shrek’s wife in stage version

London: Britain`s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is set to play Princess Fiona in the stage version of Shrek.

Amanda said playing the jolly green giant``s wife in ``Shrek The Musical`` is a fairytale role for her and a dream for her four-year-old daughter Lexi. "I``m so excited but best of all Lexi is telling everyone Mama will be a Green Princess," the Daily Star quoted Holden as saying. She signed up as Fiona, the part voiced by Cameron Diaz, in the hit films, at London``s Theatre Royal Drury Lane in May. Shrek The Musical, featuring original songs played on Broadway from December 2008 to January 2010 and was nominated for eight Tony Awards. (ANI)
