New Delhi: With an aim to further enhance economic and strategic ties, a European Parliament delegation will exchange views on global issues like security, climate change and energy with India. The 13-member delegation is here for a five-day visit starting from Monday.
"... Will exchange views on global issues such as security, climate change and energy as well as work towards deepening relationship between the two players," European Union said in a statement here.
Besides meetings with Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members, they will have discussions with the FICCI Forum of Parliamentarians as well, it said.
"In addition, the team will interact with experts and academics to discuss trade and economic relations, social issues," it added.
In Chennai, they will interact with political leaders of Tamil Nadu and representatives of civil society.
"The European parliamentarians will also have a round-table discussion with the Director of IIT-Chennai on the topic of co-operation with the EU in the area of research and innovation," it said.
Furthermore they will meet with the representatives of NGOs working on EU projects in Tamil Nadu and the last segment of their programme includes visit to the Nokia factory.
