Post balcony kiss, William ‘drove new wife in dad’s car with handbrake on’

London: Prince William is said to have left the handbrake on as he drove his new bride Kate Middleton in a classic Aston Martin just after the now-famous kiss on Buckingham Palace`s balcony.

The 29-year-old Duke of Cambridge had borrowed Prince Charles’ convertible to drive to Clarence House as a part of the wedding ceremony. Arthur Edwards, who has been covering the royal family for 35 years, said that it was the 62-year-old Prince of Wales who divulged the news of the royal couple’s unsteady start. He also revealed that the royal kiss was planned in advance. Edwards said that Prince William had made sure that he got the best balcony kiss shot, therefore he had chosen a position outside the palace with a view of the balcony “because great things have happened” there.
