Mumbai: Playback singer Sonu Nigam is all set to recreate the magic of Mohammed Rafi`s soothing voice as he performs live next week for veteran music director Pyarelal of the Laxmikant-Pyarelal fame.
The concert will be held on May 7 at the Andheri Sports Complex where Nigam will present some immortal songs of the legendary singer. This will be Pyarelal`s live show in Mumbai after 20 years.
During his early singing days, Nigam used to sing in the voice of Rafi. Later, the 38-year-old developed his own style and made his mark with it.
Along with Nigam, other singers such as Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sudesh Bhosle, Shail Hada, Vibhavari Joshi and Shrikant Kulkarni will mesmerise the audience with the chart buster songs tuned by Laxmikant-Pyarelal for many hit films.
To make the show special and spectacular, more than 100 musicians will be performing live on stage with 60 chorus singers.
Speaking about the event, Pyarelal said, "our entire team has worked very hard for this show. While doing the song selections for the show, we had long discussions with our singers and musicians. It was a tough task to select the songs."
"During the preparations for the show, I become nostalgic and started remembering the memories associated with the creation of each song," he added.
