Verinag: Model turned actor Rahul Bhatt says he is set to star in a romantic thriller directed by Anurag Kashyap, parts of which will be shot in picturesque locales of Kashmir valley, particularly the famous Dal lake.
Rahul, who shot to fame starring in various television soaps, will be playing the main lead opposite actress Tejaswini Kolhapure.
"I am starting a movie next month with director Anurag Kashyap. He is one of the brilliant directors we have. I am playing the main role in this movie," Bhat told reporters here.
Bhat, who is in the valley scouting for shooting locations, said, "The entire movie is on me. It is a thriller set in Mumbai. It is about a man who has lost everything, but gets back everything with toil and struggle."
Rahul, who was born in Srinagar`s summer capital Vicharnag area and had shifted from the valley due to the emergence of militancy, said, "The name of the film has not yet been finalised. It would be done in a week or so and
formally announced."
Rahul, who won the Mr India title and was also named the most photgenic face of the country, said, "The story of the film is close to my heart. Being a Kashmiri Pandit, I lost everything - Kashmir, our homes."
"I have come to Kashmir to find locations to shoot the movie. We want to shoot in February or March next year in and around Dal Lake and other places of the Valley," said Rahul, who has walked on the ramp for almost all the designers of the country.
"It is a romantic thriller - a love story with a twist. Kashmir happens to be the backdrop of this movie," he added.
