New Delhi: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India suspects manipulation of bids by corporate groups in the auction of coal mines in March 2015.

The Times of India reported that multiple bids by corporate groups made through joint ventures or group arms may have limited the competition for 11 coal mines auctioned in the first two rounds in March 2015

The CAG report  on the first e-auction of natural resources conducted by the Modi government. is likely to be tabled in Parliament on Tuesday.

Even the government at that time had suspected after the first two rounds of bidding that the corporates may have tried to manipulate or cartelise the bidding process.
