Eva Mendes seeing counsellor to avoid ‘train wreck’

Washington: Actress Eva Mendes has revealed that she has been seeing a counsellor for the last eight years to avoid becoming a Hollywood ‘train wreck’.
She admitted that she has weekly phone chats with her therapist and she credited the shrink with helping her navigate life. “It’s just the guidance I need. When I was little, therapy was seen as something you only seek out if you’re sick, a little wacky. But it’s not and I think more and more people are starting to get into it,” a website quoted her as telling Britain’s ‘Stylist’ magazine. “I’ve been seeing my therapist for eight years so she makes me aware of behaviour patterns. I’ve always been about taking preventative measures so you don’t end up being a train wreck in this industry. “If I see even a little spark of something that could be problematic, I just go, Let’s put that fire out now. “I speak to mine about once a week, often on the phone. I’ve given her number to lots of people,” she added. The Hitch actress had spent several weeks in a rehab facility in Utah in 2008 for undisclosed reasons. ANI
