New Delhi: Former top cop Kiran Bedi is set to return with the third season of her show "Aap Ki Kachehri", which attempts to restore harmony in the lives of many with alternate dispute redressal methods.
The new season will be launched on Star Plus in the first quarter of 2011, and will see Bedi solving public`s personal issues through swift decisions.
After the success of the past two seasons, Star India has also launched a nationwide campaign and a community outreach programme called "Aap Ki Kachehri, Aap Ke Dwaar", whereby they are inviting people to share their real-life issues to get resolutions in their own city.
"The idea of going to various cities across the country is indeed very noble as it would help us connect with people on a personal level. I look forward to the camps and hope we continue the great work in harmony of truth and peace," Bedi said in a press statement.
The first leg of the campaign was flagged off in Delhi Friday, and will be followed by events in Indore and Mumbai, as a prelude to "Aap Ki Kachehri - Season 3".
"Aap Ki Kachehri, Aap ke Dwaar" mediation camps, where relevant information, referrals, trained counselors and qualified mediators will be available, will be open to the general public. These will offer patient hearing and fair and fast mediation to the individuals and parties entangled in dispute.
STAR India has collaborated with the National Commission for Women, Mahila Dakshata Samiti, Navjyoti, SAVIGYA, and other NGOs which are already active in the field of counselling, for the initiative.
The nature of these cases would be based on civil issues which include property, marital, family and other disputes. Some of these cases which need detailed research and specific legal references would also be taken up on the television show "Aap Ki Kachehri".
"`Aap Ki Kachehri` is not just a show for Star Plus but a continued commitment to our viewers to bring about a positive change in the society. With `Aap Ki Kachehri, Aapke Dwaar` we are extending the method of quick and peaceful conflict resolution to many more people on ground," said Monika Shergill, senior creative director, STAR India.
"We are confident this effort will bring relief to many people who for lack of right legal advise and mediation have to struggle for years to resolve minor disputes," she added.
