Music mogul Tom Jones hits back

Sir Tom Jones latest album was described as `some sick joke`.

London: Sir Tom Jones, whose latest album, ``Praise & Blame,`` was described as ``some sick joke`` by his record company boss, is in no mood of taking the criticism lightly, irrespective of apology.
David Sharpe, the vice-president of his record company, Island Records, made the statement. Describing Sharpe``s comments as "stupid", the Welsh singer said: "What the hell is this all about? Who is this fella? I don``t even know who he is. I found out that he``s some fella who signs cheques or something." "They`ve apologised. "They can`t apologise enough," he added. Sharpe wrote an email after hearing some of Sir Tom``s new songs being played in his company``s offices, reports the Telegraph. "Imagine my surprise when I walked into the office this morning to hear hymns coming from your office - it could have been Sunday morning. "My initial pleasure came to an abrupt halt when I realised that Tom Jones was singing the hymns! I have just listened to the album in its entirety and want to know if this is some sick joke????" Sharpe wrote. ANI
