Kanye West lands 17 nominations at BET Hip-Hop awards

Los Angeles: Kanye West is leading the pack of this year`s BET Hip-Hop Award nominations with a total of 17 nods, vying for Video Director of the Year and Lyricist of the Year among others.

His single `Mercy`, which features 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Pusha T, emerges in Best Hip-Hop Video, Reese`s Perfect Combo, Best Club Banger and People`s Champ categories, reported a website. Meanwhile, his `The Throne` duet with Jay-Z landed him 6 nods, including Best Live Performer which also sees him being nominated as an individual. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Meek and J Cole are among other stars who get multiple nominations at the annual prize-giving event, which is set to air October 9. PTI
