New York: R&B star Beyonce has named her fourth solo album `4` after the day she wed rapper Jay-Z.
The 29-year-old said that the number held special meaning for her in an interview with Billboard magazine. "We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It`s the day I was born. My mother`s birthday, and a lot of my friends` birthdays, are on the fourth, April 4 is my wedding date," said the `Single Ladies` hitmaker. Beyonce said that the song, which has been criticized by some for it`s aggressive lyrics, was riskier than her usual sound. "I just heard the track and loved that it was so different, it felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras to create a new sound," said the Grammy winning artiste. A teaser video for her new single `Run The World (Girls)` was released online and shows Beyonce leading her army of women to take over the world. PTI
