Lady Gaga breaks down on stage

Lady Gaga dedicated a number to her ill grandfather.

London: Pop star Lady Gaga`s emotions got the better of her during a recent performance where she broke down on stage while singing a number dedicated to her ill grandfather. The 24-year-old singer, known for her eccentric style and risqué performances, dedicated the song `Brown Eyes` to her grandfather during the London show of her hit `Monster Ball` world tour.
"If we all sing loud enough, maybe he can hear us," said the singer and half way through the song she had to pause to wipe away her tears, reported Daily Mail online. And while the rare moment was not captured on camera, fans and reviewers were stunned to see her softer side. But it was not long before she was back in the normal swing of things, bathing in an angel fountain spouting blood and playing the piano with her feet. The show was controversial for reasons other than her shocking flame-thrower costumes and daring onstage antics. Tickets are double the cost of the first leg, between USD 75 and USD 100 a pop, rather than the initial dates which cost USD 50. Promoters said the singer had scrapped the original staging, seen in the US, for a huge production with bigger staging and better costumes. "What was a small arena/theatre production is now a massive, first rate arena production," Arthur Fogel, chairman for Live Nation said earlier this year. During the world tour, Gaga has suffered a series of health scares. And she revealed she has been tested for the potentially fatal disease lupus. The `Paparazzi` hitmaker, who collapsed on stage while touring in Japan earlier this year, had said that her aunt died from the connective tissue disease. PTI
