Kolkata: Singing legend Nirmala Mishra and Bengali cinema superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee were conferred special honours by an FM channel, in recognition to their contribution in the fields of art.
"The public is my God. And I owe everything to my audience. This award also belongs to the people who has made me what I am today," Mishra said after receiving the Radio Mirchi Lifetime Achievement Award here last evening. Prosenjit was awarded `Surchitrak Prosenjit` for his aesthetic contribution in the field of art, in terms of inspiring and popularising film and lyrics. "My directors, singers, lyricists and co-actors and above all my fans are the real recipients of the `Surchitrak Prosenjit` award. I dedicate it to them all," Prosenjit said. Dedicated to the memory of R D Burman, the Radio Mirchi jury awards went to Anupam Roy for music direction-lyrics, Santanu Moitra for music direction in select Bengali films and poet-lyricist Srijato.
