London: `Bee Gees` star Robin Gibb was rushed to a hospital after complaining of abdominal pains, throwing his Brazil tour into jeopardy.
The `Stayin Alive` hitmaker was taken ill yesterday morning and doctors have told him not to travel while they diagnose the problem, reported Daily Mail online. Last year he underwent surgery for a blocked intestine, the same condition which led to the death of his twin brother Maurice in 2003. "In the early morning he had terrible pain and he was feeling very ill. A paramedic came out and he was taken to hospital. We are not sure what`s wrong with him at this stage and are worried," a spokesman for the 62-year-old singer said. With his group, which also included elder brother Barry, Gibb has notched up decades of chart hits including their Eighties disco tracks such as `Saturday Night Fever` and `Stayin` Alive`. Maurice Gibb died in Miami at the age of 53 due to complications from a twisted intestine, a genetic condition. Robin Gibb had been due to play a number of shows in Brazil including performances in Sao Paolo and Brasilia. PTI
