Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan’s on-screen chemistry in jeopardy

Mumbai: It seems Katrina Kaif and Abishek Bachchan starrer ‘Dostana 2’ will never see the light of the day due to frictions between producer Karan Johar and director Tarun Mansukhani. Apparently, Katrina has rejected several offers to work with Abhishek as she promised Johar and Mansukhani that she will keep her on-screen jodi with the actor exclusive to ‘Dostana 2’. Talking to a daily, a source close to the actress said, “Karan and Tarun had requested her to keep the pairing exclusive. This is why she turned down all the films that were offered to her with Abhishek. Quite recently she said no to Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Players’ and Raj Kumar Santoshi’s ‘Ladies & Gentlemen’ and several other films.” Of late, due to the friction between Mansukhani and Johar, the future of ‘Dostana 2’ is uncertain. “There’re huge creative differences between Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani. It seems unlikely that they’d be resolved. This leaves Katrina with no film opposite Abhishek, who she’s keen to sign a film with,” said the source. When contacted, Katrina said, “I’ve been looking forward to working with Abhishek. But I didn’t want to do any genre except a romantic film with him. I’m looking forward to signing a film with him, as soon as something appropriate comes along.”
