Petrol price hiked in Delhi by 32 paise per litre

Petrol price in Delhi has been hiked by 32 paise per litre from Wednesday as the state government withdrew VAT exemption on the fuel.

New Delhi: Petrol price in Delhi has been hiked by 32 paise per litre from Wednesday as the state government withdrew VAT exemption on the fuel.

"Petrol price has been increased by 32 paise only in Delhi. There is no change in rates at all other places," an Indian Oil Corp (IOC) official said here.

The increase in rates was due to withdrawal of VAT exemption in June last year. "We have, however, increased the price only from today," he said.

Petrol will cost Rs 67.56 per litre in Delhi from today.
