Service Tax: Services that become costlier from today

New Delhi: With the implementation of the new Service Tax of 12 percent many things will become expensive from Sunday.

With the exception of 38 services, which figure in the negative list, all other activities would attract 12 percent tax.

Following are the list of additional services that will be dearer from today:
1. Metered taxis

2. Auto rickshaws

3. Betting

4. Gambling

5. Lottery

6. Entry to amusement parks

7. Transport of goods or passengers

8. Electricity transmission or distribution by discoms

9. Coaching classes and training institutions

10. Speed post, Express parcels

11. Travel & Holiday bought from online portals
