New Delhi: Designer Rahul Reddy’s collection at Wills India Fashion Week Spring/Summer’ 11 was all about showcasing dresses in bold and beautiful colours. The audience was left spellbound as the models walked the ramp wearing bright and charming shades of pinks, greens, oranges, turquoise and purples.
A fruity palette thrown against white background and supported by peppy music filled the air with energy and exuberance. With all the elements mixed together in the right proportion Rahul’s collection turned out to be a lively and cheerful rhapsody.
Rahul Reddy is a famous name in the fashion circuit, known for his innovative textural designs. Rahul, once again proved his mettle at WIFW presenting a skillfully chosen array of fabrics like silks, cottons and knits.
Thread detailing, with superior stitching technique, done on the fabrics added to the glam quotient of models. The stoles were reformed into the most desirable hooded extensions.
Comfortable and stylish silhouettes had widespread influential patterns on the likes of pom-pom ornated bolero, detached armhole sleeved shirts, dresses with handkerchief hemlines, diagonal plackets and multi-paneled a-line shapes tacked slightly above the hems and unfastened jackets with elongated hemlines.
Dresses with stripes and dotted combos were noticeable. Also, engineered patchworks giving an optical illusion of a striped maze were done beautifully on some dresses. Motifs were linear geometrical and crocheted floral appliqués.
Overall the show was a treat for feasting visual senses of onlookers. The surroundings were rejuvenated with a colourfully prodigious elation of elements. To finish, the fruity flat boots done with the stylish wear made such a style statement that will be highly followed by the fashion addicts.
