Washington: Eric Clapton is set to auction off a selection of his guitars and amplifiers at Bonhams New York to benefit a rehab centre he founded in Antigua.
Clapton, 65, will put 70 guitars and 70 amps up for sale, and the proceeds will go to the Crossroads Centre, the alcohol and drug treatment facility he founded in 1988, CBS News reported. Among the highlights is a custom-made black Fender ‘Eric Clapton’ signature Stratocaster, estimated at 20,000 dollars to 30,000 dollars. It was used during the ‘Cream Reunion Shows’ in New York and London in 2005. A pair of 1970 Marshall vintage basket weave speaker cabinets are expected to fetch 8,000 to 10,000 dollars. ANI
