WPI inflation at 9-month low, eases to 4.68% in February

New Delhi: Wholesale inflation dropped to a 9-month low of 4.68 percent in February due to decline in food prices.
Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) slowed to 4.68 percent in February from 5.05 percent in January, data released by commerce and industry on Friday showed.
Retail inflation, which is a relatively new index, but gets more attention because the Reserve Bank of India has put it at the centre of its monetary policy focus, dropped to a 25-month low of 8.1 percent in February, data released on Wednesday showed.
