London: Amid the controversy surrounding ‘The Hobbit’ movie, ‘Gollum’ actor Andy Serkis has said that he’s sure the film will be shot in New Zealand.
“I’m sure The Hobbit will be filmed in New Zealand at the end of the day. These are stories that have to be told, films that have to be watched. People are dying for them to come out,” Sky News quoted Serkis as saying. “It has had a strange ride. I think the worse of it is over and it``s all going to come together soon,” he added. There have been protests in the country over fears the highly lucrative blockbuster could be shot overseas. Director Sir Peter Jackson, who put his home nation on the movie-making map with ‘The Lord Of The Rings’ trilogy, has warned that Hollywood studio executives are considering relocating the two-part prequel because of fears of industrial action. In the midst of all the speculation for shooting location, filming is due to start coming February, with a release date for each part expected in December 2012 and 2013. ANI
