Gwyneth Paltrow ‘to raise her kids in Jewish faith’

Despite once claiming that she did not believe in religion, Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she wants to raise her children as Jewish.

Washington: Despite once claiming that she did not believe in religion, Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she wants to raise her children as Jewish.
Her decision was reportedly inspired by her appearance on ancestry TV show ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’, in which she discovered that her family are descended from a long line of influential East European rabbis, reports a website. The ‘Country Strong’ actress told guests at an event hosted by Jewish charity, the Community Security Trust, that she was keen to bring daughter Apple, 7, and son Moses, 5, up in Jewish faith. Gwyneth, whose father the late film producer Bruce Paltrow was a Jewish, had previously said of being brought up as both Jewish and Christian. “It was such a nice way to grow up. I don`t believe in religion. I believe in spirituality. Religion is the cause of all the problems in the world,” she had said. However, as the religion is passed down through the matriarchal line, Gwyneth and her children may not be considered true Jews because her mother Blythe Danner is a Christian. “Miss Paltrow may just want to follow traditions that she did as a child, like observing the Sabbath, keeping a kosher home and celebrating holidays,” said a genealogy expert.
