Will work towards making IFFI self sustainable: Tewari

Union Information and Broadcasting minister Manish Tewari today said the Centre will work towards making the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa, a self sustainable event.

Panaji: Union Information and Broadcasting minister Manish Tewari today said the Centre will work towards making the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa, a self sustainable event.
Tewari told reporters here that after IFFI-2012 his Ministry will think upon making this event self sustainable, which is currently being financed by the Union and Goa government. "I agree with the spirit (that festival should be self sustainable). There is road to travel. Once we are through with this festival, we will see how possibly can make this happen," the minister said. Since the time IFFI 2004 has travelled to Goa from New Delhi, the talks are on to ensure that it is made self sustainable. This time, the I&B ministry and Goa government has earkmarked Rs nine crore budget for the festival to be held from November 20-30. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar would be inaugurating the 43rd edition of IFFI here. PTI
