London: Sir Paul McCartney says that he likes to mingle with fans while taking public transport.
The singer refuses to let his superstardom limit where he can go out in public. And the Beatles legend admits he is no stranger to hopping on a bus on occasion and he``s learned that the best way to deal with his starstruck fellow travellers is to engage them in casual conversation. "There`s a lot of places you can go to where people kind of understand that you``re on private time. But I kinda go anywhere. I don``t like the idea that you get famous and it ruins it for you, it``s kind of a sad idea,” the Daily Star quoted the singer as telling a U.S. talk show. "Two years ago I was on a bus in New York... and people were (staring). They don``t let on. Except this African American woman. I sat down quietly and she turns around and goes, ``You Paul McCartney?`` So I said, ``Yes I am`` and you can see all these other people (giggling). “And she goes, `What are you doing on a bus?` I said, ``I`m going uptown, like you are. Come sit with me.`` So she came round and sat next to me and I said, ``Where are you going?`` ``I`m going to see my sister...`` We were just (chatting). But in that situation, you just do that and people are cool," he said. ANI
