Shilpa longs to perform a ‘mujra’ onscreen at least once

Dancing queen and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has a secret desire, which she shared recently while judging a dance reality show on TV. So far in her acting career, Shilpa, who has danced in various forms and styles, confesses that she really longs to do a ‘mujra’. The graceful actress says that she never got a chance to perform in this particular genre that she believes is extremely elegant.

So far in her acting career, Shilpa, who has danced in various forms and styles, confesses that she really longs to do a ‘mujra’. The graceful actress says that she never got a chance to perform in this particular genre that she believes is extremely elegant. “I have been lucky to show my talent in some of the grooviest Bollywood numbers but I wish to perform ‘Mujra’ onscreen at least once,” disclosed the actress recently. ‘Mujra’ has been an integral part of Hindi movies since long time. In Bollywood, Meena Kumari, Madhubala, Rekha, Hema Malini have successfully tried their hands at this dance form. Even in the current lot, actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen and Rani Mukherjee have done fabulous work. Shilpa feels that more than the moves, beauty of the ‘adaas’ and expressions on ones face and body language makes ‘mujra’ such an elegant dance form. While judging a performance on the dance-reality show `Zara Nachke Dikha`, Shilpa couldn`t control her emotions and her passion for the dance came out in open when she gave some tips to a contestant while judging the show. Let’s hope Shilpa’s desire gets fulfilled, for the stunner has everything what it takes to perform a ‘mujra’ number with élan.
