Single Brit men splurge £24K on their wife-to-be

London: During a typical courtship of three years and 10 months, single British men shell out 24,000 pounds on their wife-to-be before they get married, a new study has revealed.

The astonishing figures were revealed in a poll of 2,000 men by card and gift company Me To You. It found single men spend 761.48 pounds on a summer holiday and 94 pounds a month just taking their beloved out to dinner. Trips to the pub plus romantic nights in cost another 205.05 pounds a month – all adding up to at least 6,367 pounds, reports the Daily Express. Not to forget to mention, the number of gifts bought throughout the year. Spokeswoman Caroline Weaver said: “It’s easy to see how costs can escalate particularly for those who insist on paying the bill every time. But nothing says ‘I love you’ like a few carefully chosen words.” ANI
